Many people predicted doom and gloom for the Los Angeles Rams when the 2023 season started.
They lost six of their first nine games, but after that, they won seven of their last eight contests and made the playoffs, where they came narrowly close to knocking off the 12-5 Detroit Lions.
The team has a promising roster in many ways, and on Friday, it took a step toward building on its success by retaining wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on a one-year contract, per Ian Rapoport.
The #Rams and WR Demarcus Robinson have agreed to terms on a 1-year deal worth $5M, per @KatzBrosSports. He stays in LA after a productive season last year.

Robinson caught 26 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns while starting in four of his 16 games this season.
He’s in his eighth season out of the University of Florida, and he spent his first six years in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he earned a Super Bowl championship ring four years ago.
Los Angeles had a surprisingly effective offense in 2023, which was headlined by star rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua and the emergence of second-year running back Kyren Williams as a Pro Bowler.
After an injury-riddled 2022 campaign, quarterback Matthew Stafford at least somewhat returned to form and made the Pro Bowl, and former All-Pro wideout Cooper Kupp contributed 737 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games.
But making the playoffs again won’t be easy, as a number of teams on the rise in the NFC, including the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, could be poised to improve.
The Rams won the Super Bowl just two years ago, and they would love to make another run at pro football’s ultimate prize while Stafford is still a viable NFL quarterback.
