The dust has only just started to settle after the Kansas City Chiefs were able to pull off an impressive overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, and the team is already working on the roster for next season.

Although the focus will almost certainly be on the receiving corps during the NFL offseason, with the team sorely lacking in that department for most of the 2023 campaign, the Chiefs seem to be addressing a couple of other positions first.

According to the team’s Twitter account, the Chiefs have signed punter Matt Araiza and safety Tyree Gillespie, who most recently played for the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders.

Obviously, these aren’t substantial moves for the defending Super Bowl champions, as Kansas City will likely wait to see who is available during the offseason in order to upgrade its roster for another run at a title.

Along with trying to upgrade the wide receiver position, with no shortage of options on the open market, the Chiefs will likely prioritize bringing back star defensive tackle Chris Jones, who will become a free agent once again.

It’ll be interesting to see what moves the Chiefs make after being the first team since the New England Patriots to win back-to-back titles in the NFL, as the squad is by no means perfect, with upgrades needed on both sides of the football.

However, the offense might be the top priority, with the emphasis being to surround superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes with a few more weapons.
