After a lot of lobbying by the players and an avid fanbase, longtime Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis decided that Antonio Pierce was the right man for the job in Sin City following a disastrous stint by head coach Josh McDaniels.
The Raiders have been highly praised for the team’s decision to remove the interim tag on Pierce and move forward with the new head coach, who has done a great job motivating his players while also earning their trust.
Although the team has gotten a lot of great press this NFL offseason for seemingly making the right choice, Pierce comes with an edge that might get him in trouble from time to time, which the Raiders franchise seems to be getting used to with their head coaches.
Pierce recently made an appearance on Maxx Crosby’s podcast and said the team will try to implement a type of “Jordan Rules” on Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, which has revved up the Raiders fans while also potentially making the NFL concerned.
ESPN’s Mike Greenberg believes that Pierce’s comments were concerning enough that the league will be keeping a close eye on the Raiders-Chiefs rivalry moving forward via ESPN Radio.

Over the last decade or so, the NFL has done everything within it’s power to protect star quarterbacks across the league, which makes this problematic if the Raiders intend to hurt arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.
It’s safe to say that the league will be looking into these comments made by Pierce while putting the AFC West rivalry under the microscope next season.
