During his heyday, Johnny Manziel was one of the most exciting prospects in college football and was eventually drafted in the first round by the Cleveland Browns.

Manziel was considered a polarizing player as his off-the-field behavior and antics rubbed numerous people the wrong way.

The former Texas A&M star was eventually cut by the Browns and would go on to play in other professional football leagues before calling it a career.

Manziel’s NFL days seem like a lifetime ago, but there’s no denying the special talent he was in college.

At his best, Manziel was electric on the field throwing and running with the football and he could’ve made something of himself in the NFL had he been able to keep it together.

In this day and age, collegiate players are cashing in on their name, image, and likeness and Manziel gave a wild estimate of how much he could’ve made had he been playing today via Club Shay Shay.

“I got $700 a month coming in on stipend. That ain’t enough… Probably $10M a year. I could’ve done $5M on my own with the Instagram,” Manziel said.

NIL is the biggest thing to happen for college sports as athletes can now earn legitimate money for being themselves.

Manziel’s got an infectious personality and is easy to market, so it’s hard to argue with his assertion that he would’ve made quite a bit of NIL money.

It’s a tough what-if for Manziel, but it’s fun to think about what he could have done had he been given the same opportunity during his collegiate career.
