The Golden State Warriors have been through a lot this season.

Stephen Curry has voiced his frustration more than ever, and it just seemed like they were ready to make a big splash before the trade deadline.

They did try to do so by pursuing LeBron James, but to no avail.

So, with the team keeping the very same core for the most crucial stretch of the season, former NBA player Timothy Legler just can’t see them finding any sort of success in the playoffs.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, Legler stated that the Warriors’ best-case scenario for the season is a loss in the first round of the postseason, with the worst-case scenario being a loss in the Play-in Tournament.

That’s not much of a hot take.

The Warriors had a tough time getting past the Sacramento Kings in the first round of last season, and then they were overmatched by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Notably, one could argue that this year’s Warriors have struggled more than last season’s, so they might not even be a better team.

Then again, Jonathan Kuminga has taken a huge leap, and rookie SG Brandon Podziemski has also been quite valuable for them.

Chris Paul could be inching closer to a return, and having Klay Thompson come off the bench could give them some much-needed balance.

The Warriors might not look like a legitimate championship contender right now, but this team has proven the doubters wrong over and over, so it’ll never be wise to bet against them.
