The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be on the way back up as they went into the All-Star break winners of seven of their past 10 games.
The Lakers have really hit their stride since changing the starting lineup, reverting back to the group that started most of the games during the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
However, the largest reason behind Los Angeles’ recent success has been the play of Anthony Davis who would be getting more MVP buzz if the team had a better record.
Davis did make his ninth All-Star team, though, and is in Indianapolis ready to help lead the Western Conference against the Eastern Conference.
During his All-Star media availability, Davis was asked which player he would’ve loved to play with the most and he picked Lakers icon Kobe Bryant via the team’s official Twitter account.
“The one player in NBA history AD wishes he could’ve played with? Kobe.”

Davis got the chance to suit up next to Bryant during the 2012 Olympics in London, but still picked Los Angeles’ legend as his preferred hypothetical teammate.
A tandem of Davis and Bryant would cause terror in the NBA as they would be one of the best two-way tandems around.
Bryant was no stranger to playing with star big men, and would have been a natural fit next to someone like Davis.
While the two will never get a chance to play next to each other again, Davis is honoring the Black Mamba’s legacy by helping lead the purple and gold to hopefully another championship.
