Even though NFL games are over for now, the sport is always a topic of discussion.

With the new league year starting in a month, many people are getting prepared for free agency and the NFL Draft.

The draft is one of the most highly anticipated dates on the NFL schedule each year.

Fans get to see their teams select the next superstars of the league and optimism is at its highest.

One team that should be excited about the offseason is the Washington Commanders.

They have the second overall pick in the NFL Draft and should be selecting their next franchise quarterback.

Colin Cowherd believes the Commanders will take Drake Maye with that pick.

Also, he thinks Maye will lead the Commanders to the playoffs and a division title in his first year, per “The Herd.”

That is certainly a bold prediction from Cowherd as the Commanders only won four games last year.

But, they did undergo a complete overhaul within their organization.

They have a new owner, general manager, and head coach.

So it only makes sense for them to address the most important position on the team in the draft.

This draft class is full of quarterbacks, and it is no sure thing the Commanders take Maye.

But, whoever they select better be ready to start right away.

We have seen some teams go from worst to first in their division.

Just last season, the Houston Texans did that in the AFC South.

So maybe if the Commanders find the right quarterback they can have a surprising season.
