The 2023 NBA Draft featured the French phenom Victor Wembanyama as unarguably the consensus number-one overall pick.
Wembanyama has been labeled the greatest prospect in the NBA since LeBron James.
The San Antonio Spurs drafted Victor Wembanyama to finally end the playoff-drought for the organization.
Unfortunately, even after drafting Wembanyama, the Spurs remain the last seed in the Western Conference with an 11-43 record this season.
But is Wembanyama at fault for the team’s struggles? Most certainly not.
According to a graphic shared via Hoop Central on Twitter, Wembanyama leads his draft class in multiple important categories.

Wembanyama primarily plays power forward and center for the Spurs.
Keeping that in mind, the 20-year-old star leading his draft class in multiple categories like scoring, rebounds, blocks, and steals will come as a surprise to many.
To be precise, Wembanyama ranks no. 1 in his rookie class for the above-mentioned four categories.
On top of that, he is averaging the fourth-most assists per game.
As for his numbers, Wembanyama is currently putting up 20.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 3.2 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game for the Spurs.
Considering his numbers, it won’t be a surprise if Wembanyama ends up winning the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year award.
Wembanyama’s numbers are head and shoulders above the rest of the rookie class.
But the only thing that could stop him from receiving the honors is the current record of the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs will most likely end the season as the 15th seed in the Western Conference.
