Another disappointing season is in the books for the Dallas Cowboys, who lost their chance to break their Super Bowl drought.
The Cowboys were bounced out of the Wild Card round by the Green Bay Packers, setting up an important offseason for the franchise.
The 2023 NFL season was arguably their best chance to make it back to the championship game because of the talent on both sides of the field, but their postseason woes came back to haunt them.
Despite their early exit, the organization is still in a solid position to bounce back in 2024.
One of the largest questions for their offseason is what they will do with Dak Prescott, who went on a second-half run during the regular season.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Cowboys will look to lock up Prescott with a lucrative new deal.
“Cowboys and Dak Prescott are expected to have deal done before free agency that will make him one of the highest paid QBs in the NFL,” Rapoport reported, via Kevin Gray Jr. on Twitter.

There have been some critics who believe Prescott isn’t capable of getting Dallas over the hump, but Rapoport’s report seems to indicate that the franchise is confident in his abilities going forward.
Prescott was one of the best quarterbacks in the league and was even a legitimate MVP candidate.
The veteran may not be as highly-touted as some of his peers, but he’s shown he can raise the ceiling of the offense when he’s got it going.
What the final numbers are on his future contract might be a shock, but teams know they need to pay top dollar for a quality quarterback.
