The Golden State Warriors are far from being one of the best teams in the NBA this season.
For months, many claimed that it was due to head coach Steve Kerr’s consistent refusal to allow young players like Jonathan Kuminga to play an increased role for the team.
Former NBA player and current analyst Kendrick Perkins was arguably one of the biggest critics of Kerr since the 2023-24 NBA season started.
However, Perkins has issued an apology to the veteran head coach for being too harsh on him via NBA on ESPN on Twitter.
“Let me apologize to Steve Kerr ’cause I’ve been critical of him over the last months. It was warranted but I kinda overdid it a little bit,” Perkins said.

Although Perkins issued an apology to Steve Kerr, it was far from genuine.
After all, Perkins didn’t take long before claiming that the Warriors may be steering in the right direction, but they are still not one of the favorites to win the 2024 NBA Championship.
To be honest, Perkins is not entirely wrong about the Warriors’ ceiling this season.
The Warriors are currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 24-25 record.
Considering they aren’t even in a Play-In Tournament spot right now, it has certainly made fans question Steve Kerr’s strategy for the team.
As of now, the Warriors are giving plenty of minutes to Jonathan Kuminga, who has responded well to the opportunity.
At the end of the day, the Warriors are seemingly only winning games when Stephen Curry plays well on the floor.
For what it’s worth, the Warriors are currently on a three-game winning streak and have a 4-1 record in their last five games of the season.
