Teddy Bridgewater was never accused of being an elite NFL quarterback, but he was good enough to be in the NFL for nine seasons.

He spent the 2018 and 2019 campaigns with the New Orleans Saints as a backup to Drew Brees, and when Brees missed some time with a right thumb injury in 2019, Bridgewater served as their starter for five games.

His NFL career is now over, and he is taking on a new challenge as the head coach at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, his alma mater.

The Saints, via their official Twitter account, wished him good luck in this next chapter of his football career.

Bridgewater was the No. 32 pick in the 2014 draft, and he was considered a prime prospect that year after an excellent stint at the University of Louisville.

Despite only throwing for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns, he was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015, which was just his second season in the NFL.

But a torn ACL forced him to miss all of the 2016 campaign, and his career went downhill after that.

Bridgewater signed with the Carolina Panthers for the 2020 season, and the following year, he started 14 games for the Denver Broncos and enjoyed arguably his best all-around season in the pros.

He then got to play for his Miami Dolphins last season, and he started two games when QB1 Tua Tagovailoa suffered multiple concussions.

After appearing in one game for the Detroit Lions this season, he will now look to pay forward his football wisdom to the next generation of gridiron warriors in his native South Florida.
