The Philadelphia Eagles’ promising season had a disappointing end, so it’s only natural to see them cleaning house and bringing in new faces.

They parted ways with Matt Patricia, who finished the season as their defensive coordinator and play-caller after taking over for Sean Desai.

Now, they’ve hired one of the best defensive minds in business.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Vic Fangio will now be their next defensive coordinator.

Fangio lasted just one season with the Miami Dolphins in the same position before being let go.

The results were somewhat underwhelming in his lone season in South Beach, although it’s also worth noting that he had to deal with multiple injuries, starting with Jalen Ramsey.

Fangio’s one of the most experienced assistant coaches in the league and a bona fide defensive specialist.

He’ll bring his veteran expertise to a team that seemed lost and in desperate need of a culture turnaround toward the end of the season.

There were plenty of rumors about Nick Sirianni being on the hot seat and some even predicted he would be fired and replaced by either Mike Vrabel or Bill Belichick, but that wasn’t the case.

However, with Fangio there, the Eagles could have a solid insurance policy in case they need to part ways with Sirianni early in the upcoming campaign.

The Eagles have the personnel to have a dominant defense, and they now have the guy they were looking for.
