Regardless of how anybody feels about him or the final two years of his career, Cam Newton was one of the most talented quarterbacks in NFL history.

Newton was the most dominant scrambler and dual-threat QB in the league in his prime, not to mention a physical specimen who would always be a perennial mismatch near the endzone.

His MVP season was one of the most spectacular in the history of the league, and while he wasn’t able to cap it off with a Super Bowl win, he was a proven winner at every single level.

That’s why Miami Dolphins star CB Jalen Ramsey wanted to give him his flowers and put an end to the online slander.

He took offense at an NFL post praising Brock Purdy, showing a pass from the NFC Divisional Round vs. the Green Bay Packers and calling it ‘more than a game-manager throw.’

“The Cam Newton disrespect is CRAZY! I’ve never seen the NFL account slightly troll any other reporter bcuz of a take they may not agree with but they do with a former MVP. He can have his opinion just like the rest of em can & people can respectfully disagree… smh,” Ramsey posted.

That was a slight dig at Newton, who claimed that Purdy was a game manager and not a difference-maker, a take that prompted some criticism.

Ramsey claimed that it’s about time people stop disrespecting a former MVP, adding that he had never seen the league’s official account taking shots at a player.

If a former MVP at the QB position cannot talk about another QBs’ performances, then how could the rest of us do it?
