A couple of weeks ago, the Tennessee Titans made a move that no one saw coming, as the team fired head coach Mike Vrabel after the team went 6-11 and missed the NFL playoffs.

This firing sent shockwaves throughout the league, with there already being some prominent head coaches losing their jobs, like Bill Belichick, who agreed to part ways with the New England Patriots after 24 years with the storied NFL franchise.

With the Titans suddenly having an opening available at the head coach position, the team didn’t waste any time in getting the coaching search underway, with so many other teams to compete with on the open market.

Although there are plenty of big-name coaches available on the open market, the Titans appear to have decided to go in a different direction.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Titans are currently working to finalize a deal with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan to become their new head coach.

Even though Callahan is only 39 years old, he has had quite a bit of experience at the NFL level and has a Super Bowl title to his credit as a member of the Denver Broncos coaching staff that won Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers.

Along with starting his coaching career with the Broncos in 2010 as an assistant, he has had two other stints in the league with the Detroit Lions and then-Oakland Raiders.

Although he’s not a splashy hire for the Titans, Callahan seems to have the experience that will help Tennessee moving forward.
