The Utah Jazz have been quietly assembling a strong, youthful roster and a ton of draft picks over the last few years.

Are they about ready to spend them all and land another player to lead the team?

Speaking on All The Smoke Productions, Paul Pierce proposed a potential trade that would really shake up the team.

Pierce believes that Trae Young, currently of the Atlanta Hawks, would be a perfect fit in Utah.

“I don’t like him Atlanta right now. They ain’t going nowhere,” Pierce said.

He added: “You throw Trae Young in Utah right now, they’ll be a problem, wouldn’t they?”

Pierce said that if Young makes his way to the Jazz, the team will resemble the Denver Nuggets.

The combination of Young alongside All-Star Lauri Markkanen would be very impressive and reminiscent of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic.

Both the Jazz and Hawks are in need of some changes but no one is sure what those alterations will look like.

The Jazz are the tenth team in the West with an even 22-22 record.

They seemed like one of the most promising teams in the conference last season but they have appeared to be stuck in a rut this year without much progress.

This has led to a lot of speculation about the front office changing things and possibly parting ways with several players, such as Jordan Clarkson, Talen Horton-Tucker, and others.

There have even been whispers of them accepting a trade for Markkanen, although it would have to be a very favorable one.

The Hawks are also the tenth seed in their conference with an 18-25 record.

Changes seem very likely for Atlanta with the possibility of the team losing Dejounte Murray soon.

Would they also cut ties with Young and put an end to this chapter in their history?

It seems unlikely but stranger things have happened and if the Hawks receive a very good deal for Young, they could send him away.
