The Miami Heat have been in the market for a star for quite a while now but to no avail.
Likewise, Kyle Lowry has been tangled up with multiple rumors during that same period.
Now, according to Heat beat writer Anthony Chiang, the team is aggressively trying to offload him before the deadline (via Legion Hoops).

Lowry reportedly even unfollowed the team after their plans to trade him were leaked.
This is far from a surprise, as Lowry’s tenure in South Beach has been very disappointing.
He’s missed plenty of games due to injuries and personal reasons, and he’s been a major non-factor offensively from day one.
He’s lost a step and can no longer hold his own on defense or take charges, and the fact of the matter is that the team has found ways to win basketball games without him.
Lowry shouldn’t draw much trade interest around the league at this point in his career.
Then again, he’s on an expiring contract and could come with draft capital attached, so struggling teams could be more than willing to absorb his contract and even try to work out a buyout with him.
The former NBA champion could still find another home at the right price, but it has become more than evident that the Heat desperately need an upgrade at the point guard position.
