Top-10 recruit Mikayla Blakes, a five-star guard, will make her college commitment on Monday.
Blakes, a guard at Rutgers Prep (Somerset, New Jersey), is having a strong season. Through 11 games, Blakes is scoring at an average of 20.8 points per game.
A five-star according to ESPN, Blakes checks in as the tenth-best recruit in the nation in the 2024 class. She has moved up six spots in the national rankings since this summer as she has shown a well-rounded game.
In August, she announced a top seven that includes Indiana, Rutgers, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
An impressive defender, Blakes is a complete guard prospect with good length as well as an offensive game that includes the ability to score with her back to the basket or using her considerable range.
She is the third-highest-ranked guard in the nation in the ESPN ratings.
