After a disastrous season for the Carolina Panthers, the team parted ways with head coach Frank Reich, who clearly wasn’t the right fit for the team, especially in a rebuilding process with a rookie quarterback under center in Bryce Young.
With the team aiming to get back on the right track and develop Young moving forward, the team is looking for Reich’s successor, with the Panthers interviewing one of the most sought-after candidates heading into the NFL offseason on Friday.
Although there are a lot of big-name head coaches out there right now looking for work, like Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel, and Jim Harbaugh, one of the best candidates out there is still working under Dan Campbell with the Detroit Lions.
According to the team’s Twitter account, the Panthers interviewed Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson virtually on Friday.

Of all the head coaching candidates taking interviews at the moment, Johnson might be the best option for the Panthers as the team tries to unlock Young moving forward in order for the talented quarterback to reach his true potential.
Even though the Panthers didn’t have Super Bowl aspirations during the 2023 campaign, the team hoped to do better than finish the season with the worst record in the NFL at 2-15.
Not only was it disappointing for the team to finish with only two wins, but they won’t even have the top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and have no idea what they have with Young, especially when C.J. Stroud is still playing and is one win away from reaching the AFC Championship Game.
