iPhone 14 Deals: Score One for Free with Trade-In, New Line and More

With the late 2023 launch of the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro are no longer the latest models in Apple’s flagship lineup. But these previous-gen iPhones are still more than capable of handling most people’s day-to-day needs, and there are plenty of ways to get your hands on one for less right now. With the release of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Apple discontinued sales of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max although they can still be found at other retailers. However, we’ve found them widely out of stock, and have noted where they are available in our roundup of best iPhone 14 deals below.

Although there are fewer outstanding deals available right now, Apple did lower the price of the standard iPhone 14 and 14 Plus by $100 each.

The Pro models offer some nice upgrades, including an advanced A16 Bionic chip and an updated display that ditches the infamous notch in favor of an adaptive pill-shaped display cutout that Apple calls the Dynamic Island. On the non-Pro side, the devices keep the same A15 Bionic chip from last year, though there are some under-the-hood improvements. But, as we’ve noted, they are not as easy to find and when you do find them the deals are not exactly abundant.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus launched in five different colors: blue, purple, midnight, starlight and Product Red. In March 2023, Apple added a new yellow hue.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max come in deep purple, silver, gold and space black.

Best iPhone 14 deals

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are still available to buy directly from Apple, with delivery and in-store pickup options. You can trade in your old device for up to $650 off your new one and use an Apple Card to get 3% back on your purchase.

Apple has discontinued the sale of the Pro and Pro Max on their site.

Verizon is offering a free iPhone 14 when you add a new line of service on a qualifying plan. You can get the basic iPhone 14 or the 14 Plus for free with any 5G unlimited plan, but you’ll need to have a new line and Select Unlimited Plan to qualify.

New Verizon customers can get a free Amazon Fire 65″ Omni Series 4K television with the purchase of select 5G phones, including the iPhone 14 or 14 Plus.

Verizon is also offering some other bonuses with the purchase, including $280 off an iPad and $120 off an Apple Watch, but you’ll need a new line of service for those devices as well to get the discount.

Though the carrier is still listing the Pro and the Pro Max, there is currently no stock available.

AT&T is offering some solid savings on the iPhone 14 series right now. When you purchase the phone on an installment plan, you’ll get the iPhone 14 or 14 Pro for just $11 per month as long as you have or switch to a qualifying service plan. That gets you up to $334 off, paid in bill credits over 36 months. You’ll have to pay back the remaining balance if you cancel service before then.

Though they are still selling the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, neither are in stock, and the 14 Plus has limited quantities.

It’s pretty slim pickings on iPhone 14 deals right now at Best Buy. The tech retailer isn’t carrying any unlocked models, and there aren’t any savings beyond Best Buy’s own trade-in program, though, where you can score some extra savings in exchange for your old phone. However be aware that trade-ins aren’t not netting huge discounts, and are more likely to save you $200 or less, especially considering if you’re upgrading to the 14 you’re probably exchanging an older model phone.

On the plus side, Best Buy has all four iPhone 14 models in stock including the Plus, Pro and Pro Max.

T-Mobile has quite a few different offers on the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 Pro Max at the moment. People on a Go5G Next plan can get any model for free when trading in an eligible device. You can also get one free if you add a line on a qualifying plan and trade-in an eligible device. Additionally, save up to $830 with trade on Go5G Plus.

If you opt for a different plan other than the Go5G Next or Go5G Plus, you can still qualify for up to $300 off, with a minimum trade-in of $100, depending on the model of your phone.

Buy one, get one up to $700 off when you add a line when you activate two (or more) qualifying lines or add a line for existing customers.

It’s also worth noting that T-Mobile is one of the few carriers with the iPhone 14 Pro Max in stock. It doesn’t currently carry the iPhone 14 Pro.

Target is offering customers up to $250 off if they’re willing to switch to AT&T and buy the phone directly from Target. Additionally, those upgrading from an older model iPhone can get a $50 credit. However, according to the Target site, the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max are available in limited quantities in-store only, so it’s a bit of a gamble if they’ll have exactly what you are looking for. The good news is, if you’re dead set on a Pro or Pro Max, Target may be your best bet to save a little on the price.
