The Tennessee Titans had a frustrating 2023 season that saw them finish with a 6-11 record, and their poor play resulted in the firing of head coach Mike Vrabel.
Pretty soon, it may also result in another key departure.
Star running back Derrick Henry is about to become an unrestricted free agent, and given the questions the Titans have moving forward, there seems to be a real chance that he will leave for greener pastures.
On “Bussin’ With The Boys,” Henry said he wants to keep playing and wants to play for a team that can win the Super Bowl.

That would seem to eliminate the Titans from the Henry sweepstakes, as they have a major question at the quarterback position — veteran Ryan Tannehill isn’t what he used to be, while the jury is still out on rookie Will Levis.
However, the big question is whether another team will offer Henry the type of contract he wants and deserves to get him to depart Tennessee.
The running back market in the NFL has cratered, and a number of star players at that position notably held out during training camp looking for a lucrative extension, only to fail to get such an extension.
Henry ran for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns this year, and while he may not have a ton of tread left on his tires now that he recently turned 30, he should still be able to be productive.
After suffering a Jones fracture in 2021, he has been mostly healthy the last two seasons, which has been a positive sign given how gruesome the running back position is.
