The Las Vegas Raiders went through a bit of a roller coaster of a season.
They didn’t look comfortable under coach Josh McDaniels, struggling to establish any sort of momentum or identity, and with Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs constantly expressing their discontent with the organization.
The situation eventually became unsustainable, up to the point where the team reportedly turned on him shortly before he was let go.
Former linebacker Antonio Pierce took the reins of the team as interim coach, and things changed drastically.

Now, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Pierce has emerged as the leading candidate to take the job on a full-time basis.
“Interim coach Antonio Pierce has emerged as the leading candidate to become the full-time head coach in Las Vegas, with the support of key players there, per league sources,” Schefter said.

The report states that people would be ‘blown away’ if he’s not given the job, although he’s not the only candidate they’re considering.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is also expected to draw interest from the organization.
Nonetheless, a report by Ian Rapoport stated that star pass rusher Maxx Crosby could request a trade if the team went a different direction, adding that all players are rooting for Pierce to get the job.
He did more than enough to be granted this opportunity, and the Raiders could end up being one of the most improved teams in the league next season, with all the players willing to go the extra mile for their coach.
