With the NBA trade deadline almost a month away, things are starting to heat up around the league in terms of big-name players being linked to potential moves being made before February 8.
One big-name player mentioned in trade rumors for the last year or so has been Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors, who could be moved before next month’s deadline as the team continues to head into a rebuilding phase.
Along with the Raptors heading in the rebuilding direction, which was evident with the recent OG Anunoby trade to the New York Knicks, the Golden State Warriors are in desperate need of a boost and might be able to get that with the addition of Siakam.
According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Warriors are a “wild horse” team that could show interest in trading for Siakam before the deadline in a few weeks via Legion Hoops.
“There’s a wild horse team out there that I’ve been told to look out for… The Golden State Warriors… I do think ultimately, this will be the trade deadline where [Pascal Siakam] is eventually moved.”

Following the departure of longtime general manager Bob Myers during the NBA offseason, the Warriors decided to shake things up a bit by sending Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul.
The move was thought to be a questionable one by the Warriors, with Paul on the downside of his career and not being the best fit for a team with an uptempo style of play.
With the Warriors currently two games below .500 at 16-18, the trade for Paul hasn’t worked out as planned, while Klay Thompson has also shown signs of potentially being washed, meaning a trade could very well be on the horizon with Siakam as the team’s top target.
