Connor Bedard made a WHL playoff series between his Regina Pats and Saskatoon Blades must-watch hockey last season.
Bedard, of course, no longer is in the picture for the Saskatchewan rivalry, but hockey fans found themselves captivated by the two teams again on Friday thanks to one of the nicest goals you’ll ever see.
Anaheim Ducks prospect Egor Sidorov of the Blades grabbed a puck in the neutral zone, got a step on a Pats defender, stickhandled the puck behind his back and then beat goalie Kelton Pyne for Saskatoon’s first goal.
At first glance, it looked like Sidorov put the puck between his legs, before the replay confirmed he went behind his back.
It was the 34th goal of the season for the Belarus native, who is second in the league in that category through 35 games in his third year in the WHL.
The Eastern Conference-leading Blades won 6-4 to extend their point streak to 14 games.
The Ducks picked Sidorov in the third round (85th overall) of last year’s NHL Draft.
Here’s some reaction to the goal.
