Despite a rash of injuries to key players, including star running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Deshaun Watson, the Cleveland Browns have continued to consistently win games.
They have an 11-5 record heading into the final week of the regular season, and they have clinched the fifth seed in the AFC, which will give them an eminently winnable wild-card contest against the first-place finisher in the AFC South.
Some feel the Browns may even have an outside shot at winning the Super Bowl championship, and while that may sound like an outlandish outcome for them, star pass rusher Myles Garrett said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that they’re “eerily similar” to the 2017 world champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Does this feel like the season of destiny for the Browns?
“It is kind of eerily similar {to the Eagles 2017 Super Bowl team} from having the same coach (Jim Schwartz), who was on that team, who is here & he’s definitely brought it up a couple times.” — @Flash_Garrett pic.twitter.com/4ybRlArBkk

That year, the Eagles got an MVP-like season from quarterback Carson Wentz — until he went down with a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14.
Nick Foles took over under center and took them all the way to the Super Bowl, where they defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Those Eagles didn’t always win pretty, but they got the job done with defense and grit, much like the present Browns.
The present Browns, just like those Eagles, have Jim Schwartz as their defensive coordinator, and he has put together a Browns defense that has allowed fewer total yards than any other NFL team this season.
The Browns have also been surging lately thanks to 38-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco, who seemingly came out of nowhere in early December and has guided them to a four-game winning streak.
Regardless of how their season ends, they have seemingly set themselves up for greater success next year when perhaps they will get and stay healthy.
