The Denver Broncos were officially eliminated from postseason contention last week, and now all eyes will be on the front office as they try to fix a roster that they were hoping would’ve been better this season.

The Broncos, under head coach Sean Payton, came into the 2023 NFL campaign with high hopes but a slow start to the year almost killed their Super Bowl aspirations from the jump.

Denver eventually rallied in the middle of the season but things fell apart almost immediately after their winning streak was snapped.

However, the team has continued to make headlines after the controversial decision to bench Russell Wilson before the end of the regular season.

Wilson’s recent struggles were a defensible reason to sit him down, but reports also came out that the team was punishing him for not deferring the injury guarantee date in his contract.

There are plenty of people who think Wilson’s days as a starter are done, but Mike Golic thinks that the former Super Bowl MVP can still lead a team via GoJo and Golic.

“While the franchise may draft a rookie QB and say we’re preparing for the future, I don’t give a d**** about that.  I wanna win right now, so I wanna see Russell Wilson,” Golic said.

Wilson hasn’t been completely terrible this season, though there have been plenty of games where it’s apparent that he just doesn’t have it anymore.

The steady decline of his play has been tough to watch, though given the state of some quarterback situations around the league, Wilson could still find himself starting somewhere.

Unfortunately for him, some of those landing spots could get filled as the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft class has several franchise-worthy quarterback prospects.
