The Buffalo Bills will be playing for an AFC East title in Week 18 after a huge win over the New England Patriots, but they didn’t come away from the game unscathed.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen hurt his shoulder late in the game on a run, and the severity of the injury wasn’t clear until Monday.
Head coach Sean McDermott revealed Allen suffered a stinger during the game and is dealing with neck soreness.

While this news doesn’t guarantee Allen will play against the Miami Dolphins next week, the injury update is significant because players can usually play through stingers.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy suffered a stinger against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 but returned in time to start in Week 17.
Allen’s availability would be huge for a resurgent Bills team looking for its fourth consecutive divisional title.
Buffalo has won four consecutive games since their Week 13 bye and are averaging 28 points per game over the past six games.
Allen has started all 16 games for the Bills this season with nearly 4,000 passing yards and 27 touchdowns.
He also ranks second on the team in rushing with 457 yards and has 15 rushing touchdowns.
This Week 18 match against the Dolphins is the difference between playing a postseason game on the road or at home, too.
The last time the Bills played the Dolphins, Allen threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns in a huge 48-20 win at home.
And after the Dolphins defense just gave up 56 points to the Ravens in Week 17, Allen should be licking his chops at the prospect of playing that defense again.
