After defying the odds and winning a second Super Bowl title with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way last season, the Kansas City Chiefs were thought to be a legitimate force to be reckoned with once again this season, with Andy Reid and company focused on winning a third title and potentially becoming a dynasty.

Unfortunately for Kansas City, this team hasn’t been the same in terms of their dominance on the offensive side of the football, nor has it had much success defensively, leading to a 10-6 record and a lot of question marks heading into the NFL playoffs.

With three losses in their last five games, there’s no telling what kind of team will be heading into the postseason, with Mahomes and his squad not looking like the dominant force of old and potentially headed for a first-round exit.

Former NFL star turned analyst Richard Sherman believes the Chiefs are sort of a team with a kind of Jekyll and Hyde feel to the team, with Kansas City being as inconsistent as it has been since the Mahomes era began a few years ago via The Volume.

“The Kansas City Chiefs have been kind of Jekyll and Hyde. I’ve never seen them this inconsistent,” Sherman said.

Even though the Chiefs haven’t played particularly well throughout this season, the postseason is another beast entirely, and the Chiefs have been as good as it gets when it comes to playoff time, which means this team could turn it on once the playoffs get underway.

With the Baltimore Ravens looking like the team to beat in the AFC, if not the entire NFL, the Chiefs will have their work cut out for them if they want to return to the Super Bowl this year.
