The Toronto Blue Jays came into the offseason hoping to find an impact player to add to their roster.
Shohei Ohtani was the name they were very interested in.
Toronto even went as far as offering Ohtani a massive long-term contract.
Unfortunately, Ohtani chose the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Blue Jays were left looking for answers.
Luckily for them, there are still plenty of impact players available in free agency.
According to Mark Feinsand, the Blue Jays agreed to a two-year deal with Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa has a two-year, $15 million deal with the Blue Jays, per source. Deal is pending physical and includes $1 million in performance bonuses. @ByRobertMurray was on it.

Kiner-Falefa is far from an impact player at the plate.
But, he can make a significant impact in the field.
He can play just about every position and that is valuable for any team.
Kiner-Falefa spent last season as a New York Yankee and a few of their fans are sad to see him go.

Last season, Kiner-Falefa batted .242 with six home runs and 37 RBI.
But, that .242 average was the lowest he batted since 2019.
In 2020, Kiner-Falefa won the first and only Gold Glove of his career.
The Blue Jays are hoping he can return to that level, at least defensively.
A bit of gamble, but a Gold Glover in 2020…

Most Blue Jays fans are underwhelmed by this move.
They know the team has plenty of more work to do to put themselves into World Series contention.
One move they should be looking to make is for a player who can bolster their lineup.

It will be interesting to see what other moves the Blue Jays make this offseason.
They certainly need to do more to vault themselves into contention.
