The New York Knicks have struggled to be a successful franchise in the NBA despite being one of the biggest markets in the league.
However, it seems like the Knicks are finally turning around their fortune, and Jalen Brunson is one of the biggest reasons behind the team’s newfound success.
After leading the franchise to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the 2023 playoffs, Brunson has continued playing well in the 2023-24 NBA season.
A perfect example of it was how well he played during the Knicks’ recent NBA Christmas Day battle against the Milwaukee Bucks.
In fact, Brunson scored the most points for the Knicks in an NBA Christmas Day matchup since the great Bernard King in 1984, and the fanbase had epic reactions to the performance below the original tweet by NBA on ESPN on Twitter.

Most points scored on Christmas by a Knick:
Bernard King 60 1984
Richie Guerin 40 1961
Jalen Brunson 38 2023

Jalen Brunson finished the game with 38 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Milwaukee Bucks.
It helped the Knicks in registering a solid 129-122 victory over the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
As for Brunson scoring the most points in an NBA Christmas Day matchup since 1984, Bernard King had a terrific 60-point performance for the Knicks that season.
Although Brunson couldn’t break King’s record, it was still a terrific performance by the 27-year-old guard.
For the season, Brunson is averaging 25.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game for the Knicks and is truly on his way to earning the first NBA All-Star honor of his career.
Apart from that, Brunson is obviously targeting to help the Knicks win their first NBA Championship since 1973.
