The New York Knicks have seemingly found the perfect player to lead their franchise for the foreseeable future in Jalen Brunson.

After signing Brunson to a four-year, $104 million contract last season, the 27-year-old has only improved his game while wearing the Knicks jersey.

A perfect example of it was Brunson’s phenomenal performance against the Milwaukee Bucks during on Christmas Day.

Brunson helped the Knicks in registering a stunning 129-122 win over the Bucks.

After the game, former NBA player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins praised the 6’2″ guard via his official Twitter handle.

“You can talk all that about Jalen Brunson not being a 1a but when you put him on the stage with superstars, he’s coming out victorious across the board,” Perkins wrote.

Perkins pointed out that many may not believe in Brunson’s talent to lead the Knicks to an NBA Championship due to his shorter height.

After all, most NBA Championship-winning teams usually have a taller player as the best player on the roster.

Although there have been exceptions to it, such as Stephen Curry and Isiah Thomas, Jalen Brunson has yet to reach that level.

Either way, Brunson had an excellent performance on Christmas Day as he recorded 38 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists during the Knicks vs. Bucks matchup.

Following the win, the Knicks are now the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 17-12 record this season.

As for Brunson, he is seemingly giving it his 100% in each game to prove the notion of shorter players being unable to lead franchises to NBA titles wrong.

Can Brunson succeed in doing so when it’s all said and done? Only time will tell.
