The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions are embroiled in a tight one in Week 16 as the two NFC North rivals trade punches.
It’s the first time these two teams are meeting during the 2023 NFL season and Vikings fans are hoping for an early Christmas gift with a win over the Lions who currently lead the division.
Minnesota has dealt with plenty of adversity over the course of the season as they’ve suffered key injuries on the offensive side.
Without Kirk Cousins, head coach Kevin O’Connell has had to shuffle quarterbacks and landed on Nick Mullens to lead the team against Detroit.
Mullens has gotten himself in trouble with some ill-advised throws, though the wide receivers have bailed him out now on multiple occasions.
At the end of the second quarter, Mullens threw a prayer of a pass into the end zone and Justin Jefferson managed to come up with a catch that had fans buzzing via NFL.
WELCOME BACK JUSTIN JEFFERSON.

Jefferson realizes Mullens is in a scramble drill and adjusts his route to give him a passing window in the corner of the endzone.
The star wideout is then able to make the catch despite the tight coverage, giving the Vikings fans something to cheer about as they went into halftime.
The touchdown was Jefferson’s first since Week 4 and the wideout was huge on the drive, making three grabs to keep Minnesota in the game.
The Lions know that Jefferson is the primary threat in the passing game, though the receiver is so good that it doesn’t matter what sort of coverage they throw at him.
