The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the NBA’s most surprising teams to start the 2023-2024 NBA Season.

After several years of missing the playoffs or early-round exits when they get there, the Timberwolves seem to be different this year.

At 21-6, the Timberwolves currently have the best record in the Western Conference.

After seeing what this team has done so far, James Worthy said that the Timberwolves “can definitely win a championship this year” when talking about the team on the Timberwolves’ postgame show.

Worthy is a three-time NBA champion and an NBA Finals MVP.

He knows what it takes to win at the highest level and believes the Timberwolves have the right team to make it happen this year.

The Timberwolves’ draft strategy has seemingly worked, as Karl Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards are the team’s two main stars.

Both are former No.1 overall picks, something this team has gotten used to having.

Towns has continued to better his game, and Edwards is a bonafide superstar who continues to get league-wide recognition.

Edwards and Towns aren’t the Timberwolves’ only pieces.

They also have Rudy Gobert as a starter, a big-time player acquired via trade before the 2022-2023 season.

Gobert has made a massive impact on this team, and the Timberwolves have been content to build around this trio.

While the organization has experienced years of turmoil and heartbreak, things seem to be going their way.

There is a lot of season left to play, but if they can keep this up, this team’s ceiling is seemingly limitless.
