The 2023 NFL season has been a disaster from the get-go for the New York Jets as they lost Aaron Rodgers in Week 1 to a torn Achilles.
Although Rodgers has been adamant about returning to play at some point this season, it would be organizational malpractice if they allowed him back on the field given the team’s struggles.
The Jets somehow hit another low point as they were shut out by the Miami Dolphins 30-0 in Week 15, much to the dismay of the fanbase.
It was a listless performance from New York who had no answers on either side of the field for Miami.
Making matters worse, the Jets were officially eliminated from the playoffs after the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans beat the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans, respectively.
Even though it was official, fans didn’t seem too surprised by the news given how the season has gone via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“With the Browns and Texans wins today, the Jets officially have been eliminated from playoff contention,” Schefter tweeted.

It seems like Jets fans are jaded with the year, and it’s hard to blame them given all the things they’ve had to endure.
Zach Wilson has looked even worse on the field and was benched multiple times, an indictment on the front office for not having a better backup quarterback option in place.
New York will be focused on getting the roster right for the 2024 campaign and looking to get back a healthy Rodgers.
For now, though, fans will have to deal with another lost season.
