The Los Angeles Lakers have been a franchise that has welcomed some of the biggest and brightest superstars in the NBA who helped turn the organization into the free agent destination it is today.
The Lakers currently have LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster, and some could argue they’re the best duo in the league today.
However, Los Angeles’ history is rich with generational players such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who helped lead the organization to five NBA championships in the 1980s.
Abdul-Jabbar was the long-time holder of the NBA’s scoring record before James broke it during the 2022-23 NBA season, though the former center remains atop the leaderboards in several other statistical categories.
Still, Abdul-Jabbar remains one of the most beloved superstars in league history and is a living legend who remains around the game of basketball.
However, the Lakers icon suffered a fall and broke his hip while attending a concert and fans wished him well and a speedy recovery via his personal Twitter account.

It must have been a scary moment for Abdul-Jabbar to fall and break something while at a concert, but fortunately, it seems that help arrived quickly and he is in good hands with the staff at UCLA.
Abdul-Jabbar has dealt with several different illnesses in the past few years including prostate cancer, and this latest injury has to be concerning for him and his family.
The basketball world is certainly hoping that Abdul-Jabbar is back on his feet sooner rather than later and is able to go back to enjoying things like concerts and games again.
