Heading into Week 14 against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers were hoping to come out with an easy win against a team that has really struggled as of late.
Unfortunately for San Francisco, the Seahawks came to play on Sunday and did not make it easy for Brock Purdy and company to get the win on their home field at Levi’s Stadium.
Even though the 49ers ultimately prevailed as the team showed the Seahawks why they are arguably the best team in the NFL right now, Seattle showed some flashes of brilliance in this game, which could’ve gone their way.
One play, in particular, was the Seahawks using a play the 49ers had used against them last year, and it worked to perfection with tight end Colby Parkinson jumping into the end zone relatively untouched by San Francisco’s defense via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Unfortunately, Seattle’s craftiness seemed to stop there, as Purdy had the last laugh in this game, connecting with star tight end George Kittle for a 44-yard touchdown that proved to be the difference.
With this loss to their division rivals, the Seahawks have dropped four in a row and are quickly seeing their hopes for a playoff push get shattered, as it won’t get any easier next week when they host Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
At one point in time, the 2023 campaign looked promising for the Seahawks, but the second half of the season has been brutal, with all signs of this team being on the outside looking in on the playoffs.
