Sunday was a great day for college basketball and the family of LeBron James, who was able to see Bronny James suit up for the University of Southern California for the first time.
Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest on the USC practice floor over the summer and saw his dreams of one day becoming an NBA player like his father start to slip away, with no telling if he’d ever be able to play basketball again.
Fortunately for Bronny, he was able to make a full recovery from the scary incident over the summer that threatened to end his basketball career before it had really begun.
Even though it took some time with the school and his family taking the intelligent, patient approach to returning to the basketball floor, he was finally able to get back to work on Sunday, playing 17 minutes off the bench for the Trojans.
After the game, Bronny spoke to the media and expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him get to where he is today via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“I just wanted to say I’m thankful for everything,” James said.

Although Bronny didn’t make much of an impact when he was on the floor for USC on Sunday, he’s got a lot of basketball left to be played on the college level, and he’ll be covered almost as if he’s already in the NBA due to the high profile of his father that currently plays down the street at Crypto.com Arena for the storied franchise of the Los Angeles Lakers.
It’ll be interesting to see if Bronny can follow in his father’s footsteps and play for an NBA team one day.
