The San Antonio Spurs aren’t exactly a winning franchise right now.
But one silver lining for the Spurs is their number one overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, Victor Wembanyama.
Wembanyama has been putting up great numbers throughout the season and took it up a notch against the Chicago Bulls.
The French superstar became the youngest player in NBA history to record at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in a single game.
While it was a historic night for the rookie, he didn’t really care about it, as apparent from his postgame conference via Hector Ledesma on Twitter.
“To me, it doesn’t really have value,” Wembanyama said.

Wembanyama depicted an excellent trait that is required in every great player.
He didn’t care about his personal milestone, instead focused on how he was still unable to lead the Spurs to a victory against the Bulls.
As for his stats, Wembanyama recorded 21 points, 20 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 32 minutes of playing time.
However, even such a historic game by Wembanyama wasn’t enough for the Spurs to snap out of their losing streak.
Following the heart-crushing defeat, the Spurs are now 3-18 in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Moreover, they are currently on a 16-game losing streak and it’s hard to guess when the Spurs will break this losing streak.
Despite that, many believe that the Spurs young stud is the favorite to take home the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
The only player who can stand in his way is Oklahoma City Thunder’s Chet Holmgren.
Which star will ultimately take home the honor? We will find out in the next few months.
