The Chicago Bears could be one of the most interesting teams in the NFL next season.
Not only could they possess two early first-round picks (including, perhaps, the No. 1 overall pick), but Chicago could also change its quarterback and head coach.
Justin Fields has been hit-or-miss as a starter with his injury concerns, while head coach Matt Eberflus is 7-22 since 2022.
But some big personnel moves general manager Ryan Poles made the past year are still enough to inspire faith in Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd.
And he said he believes it could also entice Michigan Wolverines head coach John Harbaugh to leave the college ranks and return to the NFL to coach the Bears.
“The Bears are not that far off.”

Cowherd compared the Bears’ future to the Houston Texans’ present, who are potentially playoff-bound in the first season under head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Chicago is in a position to add a franchise-altering quarterback at the top of the draft, much like the Texans did with C.J. Stroud in 2023.
The Bears also already have a No. 1 pass-catcher in wide receiver D.J. Moore, a top-flight edge rusher in Montez Sweat, and two good tackles in Darnell Wright and Braxton Jones.
But this all hinges on the two things the Bears could change: the head coach in quarterback.
If the Bears miss again on both fronts this offseason, they’re back where they started.
And while Harbaugh had success during his tenure as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, he fell out of favor with ownership and was forced out.
The Bears have some big questions to answer this offseason.
