My Perfect Pet has been acquired by US-based Antelope, a ‘buy-and-build’ pet food company.

My Perfect Pet is a Texas-headquartered company that manufactures a range of pet food and treats. It was set up in 2007 by Karen Neola. Its portfolio is focused on “natural, highest quality whole food” with mainly locally sourced ingredients.  The company sells its dog and cat food products in three stores in Texas and D2C through its website.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Antelope is a US company buying and building up pet-related businesses, mainly pet food manufacturers with a focus on “healthy” and “whole” pet food and snacks.

The business had acquired Bocce’s Bakery in 2021, pet CBD supplement and treat companies Diggin’ Your Dog and Super Snouts in 2022, and owns Ark Naturals and other businesses. Antelope sells the products of these companies on its website.

The acquirer said in a statement, that it bought My Perfect Pet because the brand “align(s) perfectly” with the business’s “values and previous acquisitions”.

“At Antelope, we are always aiming to discover the highest quality pet products to add to our roster of offerings,” said Wendy Wen, CEO at Antelope.

“When we came across My Perfect Pet, I was deeply impressed by their product quality and Karen’s dedication and passion for offering premium solution-based pet food. I recognize the tremendous potential for growth and the opportunity to further elevate the standards of pet care and we are thrilled to be their strategic partners,” she said.

The company was launched by Alpine Investors in 2021. Since then, the enterprise “has furthered (its) mission to transform the pet industry via a buy-and-build strategy, finding the highest-quality natural pet consumable brands, acquiring them, and helping them grow to the next level”.
