Things were supposed to be different for the New York Jets in 2023.
Aaron Rodgers was supposed to come in, solve the team’s issues at quarterback, and lead them back to the playoffs.
Everything changed after he got injured during their first game of the season.
The team has gone from Rodgers to Zach Wilson, who was benched in favor of Tim Boyle and then benched in favor of Trevor Siemian.
After seeing Boyle and Siemian’s performances, the team has indicated they want to return to Wilson.
Wilson has been non-commital about returning as the team’s starter, a cause for debate in the sports world.
Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson recently got into a heated argument about this topic, in which Ochocinco called Wilson a “scapegoat” for the team’s problems.
“The disrespect of what the Jets are trying to do, similar to what they are doing to Mac Jones over there, bench you, put somebody else in, bench you,” Johnson said.

Sharpe immediately responded to Johnson, indicating that Wilson’s situation is not unique.
He pointed out that several players have experienced a similar struggle in their NFL tenure, players in all different positions.
While Sharpe might have a point, Johnson doesn’t believe that Wilson should risk getting injured after watching what happened to Siemian last week.
Opinions continue to differ on what the Jets are doing, and what they should do moving forward.
Sharpe and Johnson are close friends and are both former NFL players.
If they each have a strong opinion for either side of this argument, it’s no wonder why fans debate this on social media.
The Jets will face a difficult decision for their upcoming game against the Houston Texans.
Do they put out Wilson, who they might believe gives them the best chance to win?
Or will they roll with Boyle or Siemian, effectively throwing in the towel for the 2023 season?
