The Week 13 loss to the lowly Arizona Cardinals may have been a tipping point for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2023 NFL season, with the team seemingly falling apart on their home field against one of the worst teams in the NFL, if not the worst.
Not only were the Steelers unable to get anything going offensively on Sunday, which isn’t all that surprising, considering the way the season has gone up to this point, but the defense also failed to show up.
As if losing starting quarterback Kenny Pickett to an injury and seeing Minkah Fitzpatrick have to play through a broken hand wasn’t bad enough for Pittsburgh, star defensive end T.J. Watt was also hurt in the loss to the Cardinals, which is arguably more costly than an injury to anyone else on this football team.
After the loss to the Cardinals, Watt was far from happy about what had happened on the field when he got hurt, as he believes the NFL has something against him, and tried to explain his case via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.
T.J. Watt asked about the play where he got hurt, where it appeared he was held, and if the holding contributed to his injury:
“NFL has something against me, so I don’t want to talk any more negatively against them. I don’t know what I did, but I’ll leave it at that.”

At this point, it is uncertain how severe Watt’s ankle injury is and whether he’ll have to miss time as a result of the injury, which would definitely prove costly to this team’s chances of getting more wins this season.
However, the comment about the league having something against him is bound to make the rounds this week and might result in a fine because the NFL likely won’t tolerate a player trying to call them out.
