The Oklahoma City Thunder have emerged as one of the best teams in the NBA during the 2023-24 season.
OKC is finally playing like a contender in the league, after being patient for the last few years.
The rise of Chet Holmgren has been one of the biggest reasons behind the Thunder’s recent success in the league.
Holmgren and the Thunder are all set to face off against the Dallas Mavericks in tonight’s high-intensity game.
Ahead of the key matchup, Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving shared his views on facing the young stars of the Thunder via Landon Buford on Twitter.
“They are a good team they have shown it. Night in and night out I know their record is what it is, but they are going to be a team to be reckoned with in the Western Conference,” Irving said.

Apart from Holmgren, the Thunder have more exciting players on the roster, such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and Jalen Williams.
The young studs have caused a lot of problems for opponents this season.
The young core of the Thunder most recently dominated the Los Angeles Lakers in a 133-110 blowout win over the 17-time NBA champions.
However, defeating the Mavericks won’t be an easy task for the Thunder’s core.
After all, the dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving has been in sensational form throughout the season.
Moreover, Irving and Doncic will pay special attention to the likes of Holmgren and Gilgeous-Alexander, who run the show for the Thunder.
Heading into the game, the Thunder currently have a 12-6 record, while the Mavericks are 11-7 so far.
Considering the two sides are separated by just a single game in the Western Conference table, this game will have the attention of most NBA fans out there.
