The New England Patriots are having one of the most disappointing seasons in team history.
That may seem like a bold statement but it is true.
New England came into the year with high expectations and playoff aspirations.
Quarterback Mac Jones was expected to take a leap with new offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien in the building.
But what could go wrong for the Patriots this year has gone wrong.
They have a record of 2-9 and have found out that Jones is not their quarterback of the future.
Jones is having one of the worst seasons imaginable, and it appears that he may have lost his starting job.
According to Andrew Callahan, Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham were the only quarterbacks to throw passes during the media-access portion of practice on Wednesday.
While that was going on, Jones stood behind both players doing nothing.

New England has no chance of making the playoffs, so they might as well see what their backup quarterbacks can do.
The Patriots have not yet announced who will start this week, but is it looking more and more unlikely to be Jones.
With the way the season is playing out, the Patriots look destined for a top-five pick.
That seems like the perfect place for New England to invest in a new quarterback.
This upcoming draft class seems full of great signal callers, and the Patriots must find the right one.
Many changes are coming to New England this offseason, and their starting quarterback should be one of them.
