The start of the NBA regular season is always a feeling-out process, with the league not really coming to form until the Christmas Day games get underway.
A lot of teams can have a lot of success at the beginning of the season and then come back down to earth in the second half of the season as they begin to get exposed by the true playoff contenders around the NBA.
One team that is getting that kind of buzz to begin the 2023-24 campaign is the Orlando Magic, who are arguably the hottest team in the league right now, along with the Oklahoma City Thunder (11-4), with both teams having won six games in a row.
The only difference between these two teams is that most people expected the Thunder to come on strong this season, while the Magic have seemingly come out of nowhere as a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference.
It seems that after the Magic convincingly beat the top-seeded Boston Celtics, the league was put on notice that Orlando may no longer be a team that can be taken lightly, via Hoop Central.

Even though the Magic are playing some impressive basketball as of late, highlighted by their wins over the Celtics and defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets, there’s still a lot of basketball left to be played.
The Magic will be put to the test for the rest of the season, and it’ll be interesting to see if this team can sustain this level of success moving forward.
