The Los Angeles Clippers are far from being a consistent team in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Even though the Clippers traded for James Harden earlier this season, they haven’t really made a big impact on the Western Conference standings.
The Big 4 of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook played during the Clippers’ recent matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, but they were no match for the dynamic duo of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.
Williamson and Ingram were on fire as the duo earned praise from Kawhi Leonard after combining for 62 points on 54% shooting from the field via ClutchPoints on Twitter.
“They’re great players. They’re going to have nights like this,” Kawhi Leonard said.
“They’re great players. They’re going to have nights like this. They got it going early and once you make a few shots and you’re that great of a basketball player, it is just open range for you.”

Kawhi Leonard didn’t make any excuses for allowing Williamson and Ingram to score at will against the Clippers.
Instead, the two-time NBA champion believes players of Williamson and Ingram’s caliber are bound to have such games if they get going during the early minutes of a game.
The duo proved that against the Clippers as they helped the Pelicans improve their record to 9-7.
Taking a look at the two teams’ full stats, Williamson had 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for the Pelicans.
On the other hand, Ingram registered 30 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists against the Clippers.
All things considered, the Clippers were outmatched by the brilliance of Ingram and Williamson.
The Pelicans were ultimately the better team, and the Clippers will now need to put together another winning streak as their three-game winning streak was snapped against the Pelicans.
As for the Pelicans, they have gotten one step closer to being in contention for playoffs.
