The Pittsburgh Steelers may be overachieving this season with a 6-4 record, and they have a real shot at making the playoffs for the first time since Ben Roethlisberger retired.
However, that record doesn’t mean they don’t have issues.
Their offense has had problems, as it ranks 28th in points, and in particular, they have had trouble moving the chains with their passing game, which ranks next-to-last in yards and touchdowns.
Offensive coordinator Matt Canada, who has been a target of Steelers Nation, was fired on Tuesday, and starting quarterback Kenny Pickett had a diplomatic response, per Steelers Depot.

Canada was in his third season at the helm of Pittsburgh’s offense, and lately, plenty of Steelers fans were calling for him to get canned.
Eddie Faulkner, who has been their running backs coach since 2019, will be their interim offensive coordinator, but a lot of the play-calling on offense will reportedly be made by quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan.
Pickett, who is in his second pro season, hasn’t become the high-level signal-caller the team has hoped he would become, as he has thrown just six touchdown passes and completed only 60.5 percent of his pass attempts this season.
Perhaps the hope is that a coaching change will unlock the potential he showed while at the University of Pittsburgh when he threw for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns during the 2021 season.
The Steelers have a relatively manageable schedule left, although they will end it with a road game against the Baltimore Ravens, who have the best record in the conference at 8-3.
