The New England Patriots are arguably one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, with the once-proud franchise struggling on a weekly basis while also facing a lot of uncertainty in terms of the quarterback position and whether legendary head coach Bill Belichick will make it through the season or be back next year.
After spending his entire NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys before coming to the Patriots, veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott is dealing with a situation that he’s completely unfamiliar with while also dealing with a strict set of rules in New England.
Heading into Week 12, there’s been a lot of speculation about who will be under center for the Patriots, with it looking like Mac Jones has finally fallen out of favor with the coaching staff.
Even though Elliott is still getting used to the Patriot Way and how things are done within this storied franchise, he knows what he can and can’t say to the media leading up to games on a weekly basis.
Despite the best efforts of some media members, Elliott wasn’t willing to leak who would be taking snaps under center this week when the Patriots take on the New York Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, via NBC Sports Boston.

At this point, the Patriots brass seem to be going with the mentality of just trying to get through the season while ignoring all the noise about Jones’ future with the team and whether Belichick might get fired or if he won’t return for the 2024 campaign in New England.
Elliott went with the safe approach, and who can blame him, as he’s likely regretting his decision to sign with the team this season.
