After superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo basically gave the Milwaukee Bucks an ultimatum this past summer, the team decided that it needed to make a game-changing move in order to keep the face of the franchise from leaving in the very near future.

The Bucks wasted no time in getting active in trade talks to find the right star to complement Antetokounmpo, the best on the basketball floor, resulting in the team making a blockbuster deal for Damian Lillard.

This was a game-changing trade for the Bucks, as it sent shockwaves throughout the league and breathed new life into the team’s chances of competing for championships over the next few years with their new double-headed monster leading the way.

With Lillard coming to town, it seems as though Antetokounmpo has been reinvigorated after the Bucks were embarrassed by the eighth-seeded Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA playoffs last season.

Along with having a new outlook on competing for a title moving forward, it appears that Antetokounmpo might have his sights set on winning a third NBA MVP award as well as lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy at season’s end, according to NBA legend Marques Johnson via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

With the Bucks expected to be one of the best teams in the league this season and Antetokounmpo being as highly motivated as he is, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he contends for another MVP award.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in Milwaukee this season and how the Bucks do in the first year of this experience.
