One didn’t have to be a football connoisseur — or even a Pittsburgh Steelers fan — to realize that the team hasn’t been good offensively this season.
Kenny Pickett has shown glimpses of great play, but he’s often been hampered by poor play-calling and a rather basic play design with no motion, deception, or creativity.
That’s why the fans were delighted to know that the team had finally decided to part ways with OC Matt Canada, perhaps the least popular guy in the entire building since he took the reins of the offense (Via Adam Schefter).
this boutta be his most liked tweet😭💀

It’s not usual to see the Steelers making these kinds of moves in-season, especially considering they’re 6-4 and still have a shot at winning the division.
Granted that their loss to the Cleveland Browns didn’t do much to help their case, but there should be no shame in losing to a divisional rival, especially against one who happens to have the best, most dominant defensive unit in the league.
Even so, their offensive shortcomings were a worrisome trend, and it doesn’t seem like he had the resources to turn things around.
The Steelers’ passing game has been predictable and stagnant all season long, and while they might not have the personnel to become an offensive juggernaut overnight, they should still fare a little better under new management.
Now, all the pressure will also be on Pickett’s shoulders, as the jury is still out on him, and his numbers haven’t exactly been very impressive since he took over the job.
