The Cincinnati Bengals came into Thursday Night Football looking to bounce back and make a statement against their rivals, the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bengals started off well as they managed to take a 10-7 lead in the second quarter and give the Ravens some worry.
However, disaster struck when Joe Burrow came off the field after hurting his wrist.
Burrow was seen on the sidelines trying to throw passes, but couldn’t do it due to the pain and was escorted back to the locker room.
The star quarterback was ruled out for the remainder of the game and Cincinnati wound up losing, 34-20.
However, the loss was the last thing on everyone’s minds as the team announced Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his wrist and he reacted to the news, via Yahoo Sports.
“I felt a pop,” Burrow said. “Tried to give it a go, but couldn’t get it done. Got the news today. Not great.”

This is a gut punch for the Bengals, who had a decent shot of sneaking into the playoffs, though those hopes are all but extinguished with Burrow out for the remainder of the season.
Health has been a huge question mark throughout Burrow’s career as he started the 2023 NFL season hurt with a calf injury and now has to deal with an injured wrist.
Cincinnati will try to stay competitive with backup quarterback Jake Browning, but the fans and the organization know that more than likely this is going to end up a lost season and will need to start gearing up for next year.
